Episode 3 - The accident
Thank you to all of those who have written me to find out how I am after the car accident seen on the show. I'm doing much better now but it has taken 6 months months to get to about 70% but still have a good share of bad days. One of the benefits of having a strong team is that they can work without constant monitoring, and it is worth the time and salaries to build a team that can exist without you because in addition to rare occurrences like mine, you can't grow in your own position unless there are people under you that can take on more responsibility.
I have had a number of people email me questions about marketing a startup, financing, building out a team and more so if you have questions you'd like answered feel free to email them to NataleeRoan at yahoo .com and I'll try my best to keep up with you!

There must be more to the story of you leaving ECM - versus just your auto accident. Please share.

Sorry, no intrigue here... The original accident was in July, and I had a relapse at the end of September and again at Halloween - both times I ended up with my arms and legs going numb with extreme pain in my back and neck. I was out of the office for weeks each time...I felt guilty that I couldn't give the company my all, and clearly they needed me but encouraged me to rest as much as possible.
However, we were in the middle of fund-raising with so much to do so we tried different things, like my working from home using voice-activated software, a $1,600 zero-gravity chair, all kinds of ideas to keep me engaged but still healing. After the 2nd relapse we realized it wasn't going to work as I still wasn't healing right, and we couldn't have this situation go on indefinitely given the company was at such an early stage. I left in November - and as of May I am still not 100% so we did the right thing, as hard as it was for all parties at the time.
In order to capture me in all 8 episodes, the producers used snippets of different subject matter from the same meetings - you can tell by noting when I am in the exact same outfits. Hey, I'm a girl and generally don't wear the exact same outfit as often as the show would have you believe, but they considered me a main character so kept my appearances up this way.
