I think that on most occasions a female boss is equal to a male boss and very understanding, but you always get a feminist boss somewhere who will try to make your life hard if your not a woman,

I couldnt agree more! I am in the market of moms and one of the biggest turn offs for moms is when thier time is wasted. Social sites that allow advertisers to blog information about products loose alot of credibility in the mom market.It is almost insulting to think that moms don't see right through these tatics.

That's a very ingenious effective method to get a real feedback for employees and everything is based on trust. Once your employees gain trust, you don't really need "power lunches" to get an honest talk to them, they will come to you and the overall communication will become a lot better.

Love the show. As a recent Computer Engineering grad interested in start ups, this show gives a good primer into problems and internal dynamics of a start up. It gives an interesting and informative cross section of the process.

Although at first I dismissed the idea of Earth Class mail as remotely interesting, quickly I began to see how unique and revolutionary it has the potential to be.

I just wanted to say Kudos! and best of luck with the company and In case you're hiring any Software/Hardware engineer, I would love to get an interview.

transformational leadership has to be defined in context. Different groups of people would need a different kind of leadership, it should be more situational. So a group of construction workers will not respond same as a group of office workers.

One quality that isn't mentioned in the article that I think is crucial is honesty: honesty up and down the chain of command. When your employees know they'll get a straight answer from you, they'll respect you and have confidence in you, which is what leadership is all about.

Just wanted to say congrats on the launch of VJournal! Even though you've been down the startup road before, I'm sure it's just as exciting this time around as it was every other time and I hope you guys have an absolute blast with the launch.

Also, thank you for sharing your years of experience with us in such a candid and 'real life' fashion both through this blog and, eventually, through the information you share with us about launching and running VJournal. I've learned a lot as I'm sure many other entrepreneurs have as well.

Again, congrats on the launch and best of luck for the future.

Sucks about Google. For a company with such power they sure could take a lesson from the startup world about customer service.
